Desna did not like this feeling at all.
He felt confused.
He shouldn’t care about her like this. She was just a girl, nothing special really, but whenever he was around her he felt his heart rate increase and his palms sweat, even though the North Pole was constantly freezing.
He didn’t know what to do. He had already told Eska, and she merely said to make her a betrothal necklace, but Desna did not see this as the right approach.
And so he waited. And did nothing. After all, what was he supposed to do? Tell her? That was absurd. He hardly knew her after all, but yet from the moment he had laid eyes on her, he knew she was different.
Special even.
And then one day, that pesky earthbender had caught his gaze lingering on her for a moment longer than necessary.
“Hey Desna.” Bolin whispered loudly. “Do you like __y/n__?” It was so bluntly put, that Desna just stared at him. Oh how he wished he would have just said no, or shook his head, anything to stop the imploring look that Bolin was giving him.
“You do don’t you?” Bolin said, slightly louder than he intended, loud enough for everyone, including the object of Desna’s affections, to turn their heads to look at them. “Oops, sorry…” Bolin said sheepishly. Desna merely glared at him until at last everyone turned away, back to their own conversations.
Except for her.
She continued looking at them, her __e/c__ gaze politely curious.
And then she walked over to them, introduced herself as _y/n_ _l/n_, a waterbender who had been living in Republic City her whole life, and began engaging him in conversation.
Bolin simply stared at them as they talked animatedly, how was she able to do that? He had never seen any of the twins so enthusiastic about anything, let alone people. He had just opened his mouth to introduce himself when Eska grabbed his arm and whisked him away from them both.

That was your first proper introduction to Desna, and you had now been courting for nearly the last three years. It just so happened to be your anniversary, and Desna was taking you out on a picnic. It was the North Pole, so of course, you were both bundled up in warm clothes, and Desna was leading the way to the spot he had picked out.
You smiled widely when you saw it; your first date had taken place here. You remembered it well, and it was interesting to think about. Back then, Desna was a lot more awkward and cold towards you, but now he could hold your hand or hug you without feeling nearly as awkward.
You tugged gently on his hand as you stopped walking, and Desna turned to look at you, confusion written clearly across his face. You stood on your tiptoes and gave him a quick peck on the lips, noting with satisfaction that even after all this time, a faint blush still appeared on his dark skin.
You then grabbed the basket full of food he had been holding, and took off through the snow, laughing as you did so. You were rewarded by Desna laughing softly at your childishness, and you stopped running to listen to it; you loved it when he laughed, however rarely it occurred.
You remained standing in the snow, listening to Desna running towards you, and after a moment you felt his arms wrap around your waist, holding you close to him. You sighed in contentment as he nuzzled his nose into your now-windblown hair, before you felt something brush delicately against your neck.
You opened your eyes to see Desna standing expectantly in front of you. You looked at him in confusion until he gestured to your neck, and you moved your hand up to your throat to feel cold stone. You glanced down at it and realized with a start that it was a betrothal necklace.
Your eyes glanced up at Desna and saw him eying you, his face emotionless but his eyes holding hope and worry. You walked up to him so that your bodies were pressed against each other, and wrapped your arms tightly around his neck. You hugged him to you, before pulling apart and looking at him with tear-filled eyes.
You kissed him then, slow and deep, before resting your forehead against his and muttering a soft “I love you".
“My heart feels great affection for you too.” Desna whispered softly before kissing you again, the picnic now long forgotten.

Chapter 7 You sighed frustrated that you couldn't attend the Fire Ferrets match tonight. You caught a cold the day, currently laying in bed and listening to the radio broadcasting the event. You took small sip from your tea while it is still warm. You wished to be there to cheer for Korra and her team. But Korra scolded you for insisting to go in your condition. You took another sip almost chocking on the hot beverage when you heardthe comentator mention an attack and then the signal was gone. You sit there in silance staring at the radio. Are the Equalists finally making their move? But why now? You left the cup on the floor and forced your body to stand off the bed, your muscles tense under the pressure. Youbarelly made it to the door when you heard acrash from the other room. You hurry as best as your legs allowed you to see what is going on finding the room a mess, no sight of your family. That is when your airbending senses pick a movement behind you. you spun around, but not

Chapter 6 The team almost lost the match and all because of Korraacting up. Mako was acting just as childish almost getting themselves whipped as easy as bugs by the other team. Fortunately Thanks to Bolin they were able to pull through. Your uncle was in the crowd cheering for Korra and her team. You were watching from the balconny outside the locker rooms along with Asami. She seems to have noticed something is wrong too. "Are they usually arguing like this alot?" she asked you crossing her arms. You couldn't tell her the truth for everyone's sake. "Well Korra is new to the team and sometimes she forgets about teamwork, since she is used to do things solo." you explained keeping a straight face. Asami glanced up at you real quick, then back towards the ring where the next match was about to begin. A couple of minutes later the Fire Ferrets appeared down the hallway, Mako and Korra still arguing. Asami run up to them to great Mako for the victory. He smiled at her, pulling her in a

Chapter 3 "KORRA!" You slammed the door of Chef Beifong's office, your uncle Tenzin on your heels. You were furious, not only because you have to wait for the next boat - your ass freezing to death - but also because she made you look irresponsable in your uncle's eyes. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH TROUBLE YOU CAUSED?" You slammed your hands on the table ignoring Beifong's disaproving glare. "You are too uptight for someone your age and shouldn't airbenders act more calm and collected?" she teased you. A vain popped on your forhead, but before you can say anything more Tenzin squeezed your shoulder to get your attention. You sighed taking deep breaths to calm down. Korra was not worth all the nerves and wrinkles begining to form on your forehead. You step back leting your uncle deal with the matter. You knew she will only get lectured about what she did and as the arrogant brat she is she will just brush it off. you almost rolled your eyes at the look she exchanged with Chef Beifong
