Nightmares (Takashi *Mori* Morinozuka X Reader)

You rolled around in your sleep, silent tears streaming down your face. A soft yelp left your lips, and in a moment you felt yourself being shaken. You opened your eyes to see a face looking down at you, his usually emotionless face held worry.

“T-takashi!” You sobbed. He said nothing, but quickly pulled you into a warm embrace. You wrapped your arms around his neck, your fingers playing with his dark hair to soothe your mind. You couldn’t even remember what your nightmare was about, just that it was unpleasant.

You were a childhood friend of Honey’s, meaning you had known Mori too. You had always had feelings towards Mori, but you were too shy to say anything about it. Now that you had become reacquainted with them however, you were currently staying at Honey’s mansion for summer break, all your feelings came flooding back. It didn’t help that you had been having nightmares for the past week you had been at Honey’s home, and Mori was the only one who could make you feel better.

Mori rubbed your back soothingly as you cried, and when you had at last exhausted your supply of tears, he tucked you carefully back into your bed. Mori turned to leave before your meek voice stopped him.

“Please, can you stay?” You mumbled quietly. Mori turned to you, his grey eyes softening at your small form in the bed. Without a word, he crawled into bed next to you, before he wrapped an arm firmly around your waist. You felt extremely small compared to him, you were slightly shorter than most and he was extremely tall, but it felt…nice.

You always felt protected when you were with Mori, and you unconsciously snuggled closer to Mori, enjoying his smell. It was like the smoke of a word burning stove, mixed with pine. It was deliciously intoxicating and you fell asleep quickly as you breathed it in.

Mori glanced over at your tiny frame, snuggled so close to him, and he felt his heart rate increase. He had always liked you too, but he didn’t want to tell you. Why would someone like you, so smart and beautiful, like someone like him? His chest constricted painfully as he thought of you dating, and eventually marrying, some other guy.

You mumbled in your sleep, Mori noticed, and Mori felt the binding in his chest fade as you mumbled a three word statement, followed by his name.

“I love you Mori.”

Mori smiled gently at you, before placing a gentle kiss on your forehead.

“I love you too __y/n__.” He whispered in his deep voice, before he too fell asleep.
