Cuddles (Aaron Hotchner X Reader)

“Hey Jack.” You said softly as you crouched down so that you were at eye level with him. The sandy-haired boy looked at you for a moment, before a bright grin spread across his face.

“__y/n__!” He said excitedly, mispronouncing some of the sounds in the adorable way that only children can do. You smiled at him; you loved hanging out with Jack. You had in fact wanted a younger sibling, but alas, you didn’t get one. You also didn’t have any children of your own, but now you had Jack.

Well, not exactly. Jack was the son of your friend Aaron Hotchner, and when his wife died, he had ended up asking you to babysit Jack when he went away. You gladly did, you had known Jack when Haley and Aaron were still together, and you were very fond of him.

“So Jack,” you said as you looked him straight in the eye. “What do you want to be for Halloween?” It was Halloween night, and Jack didn’t have a costume yet, so you and him were going to either make him one, or go scour the stores for one while Aaron worked. Jack seemed to be in thought for a moment, before he leaned in close to your ear, and whispered something that caused a huge smile to etch its way across you face.

“I think we can do that.” You said cheerfully to Jack before standing up and looking at Aaron, who had been watching the exchange with amusement.  You wrapped your arms around his neck in a friendly hug, not noticing the way he stiffened, before mumbling something in his ear.

“You’ll be home tonight right?” Aaron pulled away with a soft smile, and nodded. He would certainly try, for Jack, and well, for you. Aaron wouldn’t admit it to you, he wasn’t really the romantic type and he still loved Haley, but recently, he’d started developing feelings for you. You were kind, and smart, and you got along well with Jack, and you were just, you.

Aaron then picked up Jack and gave him a big hug, before handing him to you. You followed Aaron to the door, Jack on your hip.

“Stay safe!” You called as Aaron walked out of the door. He gave you a slight wave with his hand, before you shut the door, your heart feeling heavy with worry.  

~Time Skip~

You and Jack had finished his Halloween costume (a mini Hotchner), and you had already went trick-or-treating, and you were now waiting for Aaron to get home. He had said he’d be home tonight, but here you and Jack were, sitting on the couch, watching Scooby Doo. Well, you were watching; Jack had fallen asleep, his tiny body sprawled against yours.

You wriggled carefully out from underneath Jack, before picking him and bringing him to his room. You tucked him in, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead as you did so, before walking back into the living room. You curled up on the couch, and wheeled yourself not to fall asleep, but the burning in your eyes was becoming more intense, and you quickly fell into a deep sleep.

“__y/n__. __y/n__. Wake up.”

You groggily heard someone saying your name, and opened your eyes slowly, blinking rapidly as you did so.
You saw dark hair, dark eyes, and handsome features.

“Hey Hotch…” You mumbled before snuggling back into the couch. Aaron smiled softly at your tired self, before scooping you up bridal style and carrying you to his room.

You didn’t notice being picked up, but you did notice being instantly warmer. You unconsciously snuggled closer to the heat, your arms bringing your body closer to it. Aaron smiled at you, and then on instinct pressed his lips to your forehead.

When he realized what he had done, he pulled away quickly, a rare blush dusting his cheeks. Aaron then continued carrying you to his room, where he placed you on the bed. He was trying to get away so he could go sleep on the couch, but your arms were locked firmly around his neck, and he had no choice but to crawl into bed with you.

He fell asleep with your arms wrapped around him, and his arms wrapped around you.

~Extended Ending Thing~

You woke up, not remembering where you were. You opened your eyes, and saw that you were in a bed you didn’t recognize. You then noticed that someone was in the bed with you, this person with dark brown hair. You blushed at this, but your face turned bright red when you noticed that Aaron had his arms around you, and your arms were wrapped around his neck.

Before you had a chance to move, Jack came into the room. At that moment, Aaron woke up as well. Jack looked at you two, before he smiled a toothy grin.

“Does this mean __y/n__ is my mommy now?”
